Seville, December 11th 2012
Dear families,
We would like to take the opportunity to present you
the new steering committee of the Parents – Teacher Association Richard Ford.
This new steering committee is full of energy and
ideas, more visible and closer to you.
We would like you to tell us your worries and concerns and we want you
to be better informed about our activities. Therefore we will be in close
contact with you through e-mail, our blog and soon through Facebook as well.
Our main objective remains the same: to promote the
parent's participation in the overall education of their children in
collaboration with the School Director and his staff.
If you are interested in this project of all, in making suggestions, in
expressing your concerns, in getting actively involved in the education of your
child to contribute together with others to the good quality of this
educational project, in learning how the British Curriculum is transmitted, in
the status of the construction work at school or you simply want us to listen
to what you have to say… Participate
and join our association - the best way to achieve it.
This year, we will apply "budgetary cutting"
as well, but don't worry it is in your favour. In the Assembly on December 4th, 2012 it has been agreed to reduce the
membership fee to 30 EUR per family and year. Until January 31st
2013 you can renew your membership. New
members can send their request any time during the school year, but we suggest
you do this at an early stage in order to be able to benefit from the
membership advantages. (We are working hard this year that these will be a lot
– and interesting).
Count on us - we count on you. JOIN US!
THIS IS OUR ACTION PLAN
1.
Educational issues.
-We consider this a priority, and have our vocal Sabine Naimer specifically
working on it.
-Contact with other PTA's of the St. George’s group. We want to establish and maintain contacts with
other PTAs of the group in order to obtain an overview of the development of the schools.
-Class representatives.
We want to create the figure of the father / mother representative of the class. It
would be the link between the parents of each course and the PTA. They will
give us a more complete picture of the day-to-day reality in our school, which is
different depending on the course.
-Parents
collaborators. All who are able and willing to participate with us in holding events or other activities, please let us know by email or directly to us and we will
take note. We will contact you when the occasion arises.
-New
technologies. We will ask the school about the opportunity to acquire new
educational materials such as tablets, e-books, ...
2.
Infrastructure:
-School access. We'll contact again with the Town Hall of Sanlucar to know at what stage negotiations are, and request detailed implementation plans and dates.
-Visit of the School installations. We want to know (and then tell you) the improvements made in this course and future plans of execution.
-Registered
office of the PTA. We will request a room to have physical presence as PTA in the
school, which is the legal headquarters of our association. This will also help
keep all documentation and have it more affordable for those partners who want to
consult it.
3. Events:
-Conference cycle for Parents. We will continue organising conferences on topics
that we believe are of interest to all parents.
-Collaboration agreement with the Town Hall in Sanlucar and the COMS. We intend to maintain the established partnerships and delve further into this relationship.
-Extra-school activities for families. We will further develop this, trying in some cases
that they complement the students' educational agenda to strengthen their knowledge.
We will ask the school the new educational map to coordinate as much as possible.
-Participation
in sports and cultural events. We want to participate in at least one sporting event ,facilitating the participation of students in a run, and also organize
interesting cultural visits to our city.
-Support for events organized by the school.
-Organise
activities with the students on the occasion of special events such as
Christmas, Halloween, ...
4. Meeting
with the CEO:
We'll
request a meeting with the CEO in order to talk about matters within her competence.
5. Special benefits
for members:
We plan to carry out several actions to reward the trust and
involvement of partners, as in all PTAs. More
detailed information will be given.
6. Library:
We will continue offering our collaboration to the school to make the library already enjoyed by our children an even better one.
Please do not
hesitate to contact us for any information. Make us your suggestions to our
email or the PTA mailbox. We are waiting for them.
